Riley’s Nursery

Photographer Michelle Horsman designed this beautiful pale blue nursery for her baby on the way, Riley, and managed to do it on a tight budget with smart spending, reusing what she had on hand, and DIYing a lot of the art. She reused some leftover blue paint she had from her kitchen for the walls, and then used tester pots of paint to mix the colors she wanted for the spots. She made her own stencils out of cardstock, then temporarily spray glued them to the walls as she painted in the design. The fish mobile, inspired by Riley’s dad’s fondness for fly fishing, is also a DIY project. Michelle used a tutorial she found on Design Sponge. She also made the garland above the window by using scrapbooking hole punches to cut out different sizes of circles, then attaching to fishing line with double sided tape. Love it! I saw this on Pinterest and wanted to thank you for sharing these photos of such a beautiful nursery! We have slanted walls in our bedrooms and wasn’t sure what to do with them in our nursery. These photos were our inspiration as we pulled the dots and circles from the crib bedding and replicated them on a slanted wall just like Riley’s nursery. Thank you for the inspiration!

The design of the room is elegant. I like it and also the color of the room itself, it is a perfect match.

I was wondering if you could share the paint color and perhaps the designer name of the wallpaper. Thank!
