Mel & Andy’s Gender Reveal Party

If you haven’t heard of gender reveal parties, these popular parties are fun events where an expecting couple along with their friends and family find out the sex of their baby for the first time in a creative way. When it was finally time for photographer Mel Bosna and her husband Andy to find out if they would soon be blessed with either a little girl or a little boy, Mel planned this adorable party. The ultrasound technician sealed the news in an envelope, which was then dropped off with the baker, Sweeter Still Cupcakes. At the party, guests we able to enjoy a delectable spread of food that included prosciutto wrapped grilled asparagus and baby garlic potatoes, along with limoncello cocktail. Yum! When it was time for the big moment, guests held up a pink or blue flag to show their own guesses as the couple cut into a beautiful, vintage styled cake. The frosting inside revealed the news…find out with the last image below, and see more from this party by checking out the full gallery.

[...] Have you ever heard of a gender reveal party?  This is a party for the soon-to-be parents find out what they are having among friends and family.  This is such a fun way to find out!  Have your technician write what you are having on a piece of paper and ask your favorite baker to pick it up… or maybe you could deliver it to him or her.. (I’m not sure I could do this, it’s a self-control issue and against my better judgment I still would be very tempted to peak).  Make sure you have a photographer (or a friend good with the camera) to capture your faces when you and your family find out!  Here is a great example of a gender reveal party!
