A beautiful venue can certainly be a big asset when you’re designing a baby shower, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a gorgeous event in a less-than-glamorous space. As expecting mom and photographer Diana Lupu has shown here, thoughtful design, creativity, and hard work can absolutely transform a plain space into something extraordinary. The fluorescent lights and wood paneling at her local church did not hinder her at all!
The “Dream Big” theme of the shower was inspired by Diana and her husband Adrian’s wish for their baby to reach for the sky and dream big in all he does. They opted for a soft palette reminiscent of the sky in soft blues and colors found in the sunset, creating a light and airy feel. Hot air balloons were the perfect motif for the theme. With a small budget, Diana and her friends created most of the decor themselves, from table runners made out of spray painted doilies to DIY hot air balloons. Even the pretty food was all homemade by Diana’s mother, mother-in-law, and aunt. The event also featured a photobooth, set up in the corner of the room for guests to enjoy.
