Clark’s Nursery and Newborn Session

Clark's Nursery and Newborn Session

Brittany Rossman of Moetic Films set out to create a nursery for her son Clark that wasn’t too cutesie or babyish, and that he could enjoy for years to come. She pulled it of so perfectly with this fresh, fun room that is also filled with special pieces connected with stories they hold close to their hearts. Brittany shared:

“For example, the arrows in the corner are his great grandfathers and the DIY sign above his crib is part of my husband’s favorite hymn. I also had my husband do a drawing of Clark on a moose that hangs above his corner shelf of books. It was amazing how things just started falling into place once I picked the direction I wanted to take it. I really tried to do most projects myself and found a lot of inspiration through Pinterest and Etsy. I also live in a town with a pretty amazing Goodwill. Early on in the pregnancy I was shopping for an arrow stencil for the accent wall behind his crib. My husband then encouraged me to make my own to save some money and I am so happy I did. It was a labor of love but I really got to make it my own. Of course for the big projects like the locker refurbish I had to call on my husband and my dad. A lot of the items are thrifted and I was able to stick to a tight budget of $700.”

Jamie Jones captured all of the photos, including these beautiful shots of Clark himself, along with his mama! See all of the photos submitted over in the full gallery.

Adorable! Where did the wooden palette “Bind my wandering heart to thee” sign come from? I would love to put something like this in my sons room

Nedra, the mobile I did myself. I found inspiration from They were a little out of my price range so I bought some leather scraps on etsy and sewed the triangles together myself, I love how it turned out. Chantel, I did the sign myself using some old wood and used transfer paper with a font I liked. I originally was in communication with an etsy seller about making one but she graciously gave me the name of the font (tetra) that I downloaded for free to trace. Thanks so much for all your comments!!

I LOVE this nursery. Where did you get the lockers and chair from?

    Brittany says:

Jessica. Both the lockers and chair I found on Craigslist. Was on the hunt for quite some time for some lockers. They were in terrible shape but only 20$ a piece. I think they cleaned up nice :)

Beautiful nursery! The mixture of colors and textures makes it so warm and inviting! The wallpaper is to die for, did you make it?

This might be a silly question, but how did you hang your wooden sign? I am making a wooden sign for my son’s nursery, but I’m afraid of it falling! Thanks!
