Eden’s Bubble Birthday Bash

Bubble Birthday Bash

For her daughter Eden’s 2nd birthday party, Terry Lew of Hunt & Gather Décor and Prop Rentals decided to pick a theme she knew would be universally loved by all kids – bubbles! Terry brought in circles throughout the décor to represent the theme, but of course the party also had plenty of real bubble fun for the guests, too. Rustic details combined with bright pops of color in teal, pink and yellow helped set a modern vintage tone. Read on below for all of the cute details from Terry, then stop by the full gallery to see all of the photos captured by Cat Ann Happiness Studio and Terry’s sister, Cindy Tseng.

“I have a love affair with mason jars, so we used quilted jelly jars as drinking glasses for the adults, and plastic jars with daisy cut lids for the kids. Each jar was tied with colored baking twine and a small circle tag for people to write their names.”

“To make food easy to grab and go, I like to individually wrap or package as much as possible. The menu included lots of Eden’s favorite foods, including fried chicken, corn and zucchini orzo salad, kettle chips, fruit salad, and PB&J sandwiches (cut into circles of course!).”

“To display a variety of sweets, I created a rustic display using wooden fruit crates, wine boxes, wooden drawers, and wood planks, with the treats served on vintage glass cake stands and mini apothecary jars. Eden’s specific dessert requests included cookies, jello, and doughnuts, so that’s exactly what she got! The centerpiece was a delicious lemon cake with fresh raspberries and cream cheese frosting from Dulcinea Bakeshop.”

“My father-in-law built two sand and water tables for the party, which we filled with squirting water toys, colored ping pong balls, and digging tools, and they were a hit!”

“We had the San Francisco Bubble Man put on a bubble show during the party and the kids were just ecstatic! They got a chance to make bubbles of their own afterwards too.”

“For favors, I took plain muslin drawstring bags and dip-dyed them in fabric dye and added a small circle tag calligraphed with each kid’s name. The goodies inside included a bottle of bubbles, bubble wands in fun shapes, a glittery bouncy ball, a mini beach ball, and a couple of Eden’s favorite snacks – raisins and pretzels with peanut butter. I used an old wooden ladder with wood planks to display the bags.”
