Cael’s mom Evie of Evie Perez Photography wasn’t quite sure which theme to pick for her son’s first birthday party. Cael’s dad is in the military and Evie eventually thought of a nautical theme after being inspired by patriotic colors of red, white and blue. It felt right on the mark, so she turned to some of her amazing friends to help bring her vision to life. Evie shared some details of the planning process, so read on below, then be sure to visit the full gallery to see all of photos from this adorable party!
“I knew I wanted the party to be fun with lots of yummy food! We created a dessert table full of macaroons, red velvet cupcakes, sail away cake pops, life saver doughnuts and some awesome nautical theme sugar cookies! My favorite part of the party were the sugar cookies. I emailed Elizabeth from The Way The Cookie Crumbles with my ideas and a copy of Cael’s party invitation to give her an idea of my theme. She nailed the sugar cookie design and even made one of the cookie designs to replicate the party invitation! My husband came up with the idea of serving our guests fish tacos along with a Mexican dish called Ceviche. We also added an activities table for the kids with paper, crayons and glue to keep them busy. They loved it!”
