Baby Caleb and His Peter Pan Inspired Nursery

Baby Caleb and His Peter Pan Inspired Nursery

The spark for this darling Peter Pan inspired nursery all began from a beautiful family heirloom painting, made by baby Caleb’s great grandmother. Caleb’s mom Ashley teamed up with her best friend, interior designer Michaela Warner of Michaela Noelle Designs, to create this space that is both whimsical and calming all at the same time. Read on to get all the details about the design process from Michaela throughout the post, then be sure to see the full gallery for all of the lovely images captured by Ashley Slater Photography!

“Nurseries are one of my favorite rooms to design, especially when it is for my best friend’s baby boy! Once Ashley and her husband found out they were expecting a little man, she told me she wanted the nursery to be a Peter Pan inspired room, making her grandmother’s oil painting of the clock tower from the movie, the focal point. Without taking the design of the space too literally, we drew inspiration from the movie and the family heirloom painting, and created something that both Caleb and his parents love!”

“We started with out big design elements first. After seeing the painting above the crib, we chose a soothing shade of creamy blue for the walls and this Lulu & Georgia rug that actually looks like water (this was the first thing Ashley bought for the room and it was love at first sight for both of us!).”

“Next we picked out the adorable Caitlin Wilson Textiles anchor pillow, Peter Pan watercolors from Billy & Scarlet on Etsy, and an awesome floor lamp.”

“We then filled in with fun details like the world map dresser knobs, cute stuffed animals (and of course the crocodile is in the mix!) and some great fish bedding from Land of Nod.”

“We spray painted the numbers we found at Hobby Lobby gold and paired them with a fun sailboat and the sweetest pair of baby Sperry’s. It’s always the little details that really pull the room together!”

“But, of course, the cutest little detail is baby Caleb himself. We think this nursery is a great space for him to learn, grow, and will eventually be a room he can easily transition into becoming a toddler and little boy.”
