Baby Elena and Her Soft, Vintage Inspired Nursery

Soft, Vintage Inspired Nursery

New parents Frederique and Alain wanted their new little girl’s nursery to have a vintage look and a feminine feel without being too overly girly and pink. Frederique shared:

“We wanted the room to be a soothing place where we could spend time singing lullabies and rocking our baby to sleep. It quickly became my husband’s favourite hiding spot during the pregnancy. I would always find him there reading or listening to soft music, as if he was waiting for our daughter to arrive.”

We can see why Alain was so fond of this room, with it’s light and airy feel. They didn’t want to overspend on the nursery, so they wisely sought out used items in good condition and made regular retail purchases more special with inexpensive customizations. They also got lucky with a particularly talented grandmother of Elena who made many items in the room, including curtains, bedding, the rug, laundry bag, and even dolls! Jessica Bossé Photography captured this sweet girl in her beautiful space, and you can see more in the full gallery.

In the credits, you say “stuffed mouses“. I believe the proper term is “stuffed mice“.

Do you know which 2 pink colors were used for the 2 tone wall?

Kristen, the top part is white and the bottom is more of a beige.. It is called freesia 4108-1 from the Rona Collection (Quebec). We just recently moved though and got the exact same colour from another brand (Betonel/paper lantern). Basically, we just matched the colour to the curtains.
